A shortage of chilli means that one particular type of sriracha sauce has had production delayed.
If you're a chilli-sauce lover and want to take the bottle-half-full approach, it's perhaps an opportunity to give some other chilli-based condiments a try.
We asked two people in the business to share their workarounds for the current shortage.
Chilli and hot sauces can also enhance the flavour of the dishes you're adding it to, says Ethan Yong, who runs a chilli-oil company in Melbourne.
"People want to feel the burn … that's why [many] people like spicy food, because they enjoy that light burn — it's not excruciating, and it kind of makes you feel good," Ethan says.
"[Australia] has a lot to offer in terms of hot sauces — there are a lot of new ones coming out every year," says Ethan.
