Some of us dream of running our own business one day, leaving our 9-5 to pursue a passion in hopes of building something. For me? I never thought that maybe one day I would run my own business, especially not only 1 year after my first corporate job out of university. I had zero experience or connections within the food industry. I had to learn all of the foundations and early lessons on my own, like how to safely send jars across the country or what it takes to build a nutritional information panel. If I could share my story with others, to help them in their own entrepreneurial journey it would be my pleasure. It’s something I wish I had myself early on.
Foundr is a global media and education company for entrepreneurs, providing content that helps to educate and inspire today’s founders to become tomorrow’s business icons. I was lucky enough to be the first participant of a new, exciting mini documentary series that they have started, interviewing up and coming entrepreneurs that are currently in the midst of growing a successful business.
In this mini doco series we go through the journey of UmamiPapi, including topics such as why chilli oil, how we came up with the name UmamiPapi, what the early days looked like and how we managed to get the product from a small, ecommerce business to being on supermarket shelves across the entire country.
